What three consecutive even numbers add up to 102?

So first you have to understand what consecutive numbers are.

So let's set up an equation, using x as the first consecutive number. 
x + x + 2 + x + 4 = 102
Then simplify:
3x + 6 = 102
Subtract 6 from both sides.
