So basically the base form is f(x,y) that is why I added it there. Then the transformation reflects the shape over the x-axis which changes it from f(x,y)→(x,-y). If you take point A, for example, it is (0,1). When reflected, as the formula shows, it becomes (0,-1) and that is where the negative sign before the y comes from. Then we translate point A left 3 and down 2. That makes the point become (-3,-3) which is where A prime is. That also changes the formula to f(x,y)→(x-3,-y-2).
