so here we can say

$R_{eq} = \frac{R}{3}$

now the current in the circuit is given as

$i = \frac{V}{R_{eq}} = \frac{3V}{R}$

now if one of the resistance is removed from it

now the equivalent resistance is given as

$\frac{1}{R_{eq}} = \frac{1}{R} + \frac{1}{R}$

so it is given as

$R_{eq} = \frac{R}{2}$

now the current in the circuit is given as

$i = \frac{V}{R_{eq}} = \frac{2V}{R}$
