In a resistance experiment, a gold ring was connected into a circuit as a resistor. The connections touched on diametrically opposite points on the circular ring. Its diameter is 2 cm, and the metal's cross-section is a rectangle 3 mm by 0.5 mm. A voltmeter connected across the ring measured 4.2 mV, whilst the current through it was measured at 18 A. gold ring V A fig E:
