Calculating and Graphing Motion
1 of 10
A train moving 561 m per minute in a south-to-north direction passed near Austin's house. Because the train was 50 m long and was only 10 km from
Austin's house, it was easy to both hear and see the train

d. Fp and Fg
Explanation:
In a context where a person is lifting an object you have to consider the vertical forces.
Fg stands for the gravitational force: the attractive force exerted by the Earth on the object in virtue of the masses and equals the mass of the object times the gravitational acceleration. This product is the weight of the object.
The other vertical force, which must counteract the weight of the object, is the upward force applied on the object. It is usual fo use the notation Fp for the pull force using a pulley system.
In this scenario the net force equals the difference Fp - Fg.
