Two masses are compressed against a spring as shown in the
figure; the system is at rest. The mass of m1 is 1.2 kg and m2
has a mass of 1.8 kg. When the masses are released, m2
travels to the right at 2.0 m/s. What is the speed of m1 after
the spring is released? Assume the horizontal surface is
frictionless.
