Explanation;Limestone is an example of a sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rocks are formed as a result of hardening of sediments which occurs as a result of pressure which presses the lower layers of sediments together, and the process of cementing; in which sediments are glued together by minerals dissolved in water.Limestone like other sedimentary rocks is composed of grains which are skeletal fragments of marine organisms such as coral.
