Your house is very small and has a dirt floor. Your parents are tired and weak, and you wish you could do something to improve their lives.

Joining a Guild would be important, this will protect your products value and become stronger as a group. Being a peasant before the Black plague would have little you could do, but after the Black plague, more land would be open and population vastly decreased. This would allow for you to have more power, since nobles have less peasants to control, the ones they do have naturally have more power.
