Function of cell wall:
The cell wall is the protective covering of the cells that are present in plants, fungi, bacteria and in case of Archean. Different cell walls are made of different chemicals in different organism.
Cell wall provide the mechanical support to the organism. The shape, size and integrity of the cell is maintained by the cell wall.
The cell wall of plants cell also provide turgidity to the plants. The cell wall of bacteria helps them to survive in extreme environmental conditions.
The process of diffusion, cell growth, structural maintenance, storage and communication functions are provided by the cell wall.
