Dengue fever is a viral infection caused by mosquitoes in the tropical regions. It's symptoms include high fever, joint pains, bleeding and shock. There's no known cure for it.

Other neglected diseases include; hookworm infection, ascariasis, schistosomiasis, leprosy and trypanosomiasis also known as African sleeping sickness and caused by trypanosoma brucei.

Novartis research centers for tropical diseases offer social responsibility in looking into these neglected but fatal diseases and trying to find ways in which we can better manage and prevent them.
