A. character versus self
Explanation:
In literature, conflict is most often described as an ongoing struggle between to opposing forces.
The most prominent example of this would be a conflict between two characters (hero versus villain).
Of course, there can also be a conflict between a character and a society or even nature. All these are example of external conflicts.
Besides this, there is also an internal conflict - a struggle between a character and himself/herself. Reasons for this are usually fear, emotions, guilt etc.
In the given excerpt, we see Claire trying to overcome her fear of dive and fear of failure and injury.
She wants to try it, but her fears and insecurities prevent her from doing so. These two opposing forces represent an internal, self vs. self conflict.
