A thesis statement must contain the topic and the main focus or position in an analysis. Sentence B is an example of a thesis statement. It mentions the topic: Samuel Chang's Lunar Discovery; as well as the main focus of the analysis: captures well the suspense of the Apollo 11 moon landing.  

A thesis statement summarizes an analysis' main intention and ideas in a single sentence. The remaining sentences are not thesis statements because they state facts about the novel and the Apollo 11 space mission; thus, they do not illustrate any position or idea to analyze in relation to the topic.
