I think the answer is " he does not like the doorman".

This is because if he does not like lying then why did he lie. If he didn't like lying he wouldn't have lied. If he often gets sick then why did the doorman  think he was lying. So probably the best answer is the he doesn't like the doorman.

In the story of “A Brief Moment in the Life of Angus Bethune” by Chris Crutcher the author tells the story of Angus, a boy who complains about his life and four parents for being “different” to normal parents, his father and mother were non-hetero and had their respective partners.

And finally the mood of the story is one of sadness, anger and frustration.
