Lower water levels on the river change the environment for animals that depend on the river.
Explanation:
If a river starts to be used for irrigation that will have very big effect on multiple things. On the short run, the people that use the water from the river for irrigation will have benefits, but on the long run that will change. The environment, on the other hand, will immediately start to have negative consequences.
The people in the upper and middle flow of the river will have the biggest benefit, as they will get solid amount of water for irrigation, meaning they will be able to make more profit from their thriving crops. The people in the lower parts of the river will start to feel negative effects because the amount of water they receive will decrease, thus affecting their crops and finances badly.
The environment will suffer badly. The area around the river will become drier. The water supply lower, and if there is a lake or wetland that depends on the water of the river it will gradually dry out. Also, the farming will lead to pollution of the water, so in very short space of time this can result in an environmental catastrophe.

The material moved by erosion is sediment. Deposition occurs when the agents, usually wind or water, of erosion lay down sediment. Deposition changes the shape of the land. Water's movements (both on land and underground) cause weathering and erosion, which change the land's surface features and create underground formations.
