2. The Delian League was started as an association of Greek city-states. Each city-state contributed to the defense of all the members. Athens, as the wealthiest and strongest member, quickly took control. When the Persian threat diminished, some city-states wanted to leave the league, but Athens prevented them from withdrawing. Pericles praised Athens as an example for the entire world, but not everyone agreed. Thucydides criticized the Delian League and the way Athens controlled it. Read each quotation aloud. It depends on how equal the cuts would be, if it’s equally divided maybe it would work. However, equality doesn’t mean equity because there are times that a President should really look on the matters that the people needed. In budgeting, we should list down our top to the least priorities and from there we can set where our taxes (money) will go. Thinking not just for the majority of the population but for keeping ALL the people in mind can help the President be re-elected.
