3. The Timeline of Historical Events chronicles the 12-year history of prejudice, discrimination, and
persecution that came to be known as the Holocaust. Using the timeline, trace the events of the
Holocaust from Hitler's appointment as Chancellor of Germany in January 1933 to the end of World War
Il in 1945. Note the escalation of persecution and violence over the course of those years. Why do you
feel it took 12 years to place an end to the Holocaust?
