Im not a Christian anymore now but I remember learning this when I was younger. The Pharisees were plainly just jealous of Jesus and the attention and worship he was gaining and what he could do which is why they feared them as well mainly because of what he has done and what he could do to them and were scared of his growing followers that could bring down the empire in support of Christianity and Jesus, and lastly they were just angry at him for existing and wanted to murder and stone him to death as revenge.
