A professor wants to determine whether college algebra should be kept as a prerequisite for the course entitled Introductory Psychological Statistics. Accordingly, some students are allowed to register for the course on a pass-fail basis regardless of whether they have had the prerequisite. Of the 70 students in the class, 40 have had algebra and 30 have not.
