They will be 54 miles apart in 3 hours. If Carol bikes 8 mph you would multiply the amount of hours by how fast she is going to get how far she went. You would then do the same with Nora. 8x3= 24. 10x3= 30. You would then add how far they both got considering they went in opposite directions. 30+24= 54.
