The given ratio is 3:4 this means there are 7 people in each unit of this ratio.
It is stated that there are 35 students in total . That would mean that there are
5 Total sets of students in this class . When we multiply the numbers in our starting ratio by this multiple of 5 , our ratio now becomes 15 : 20
15 and 20 do indeed add up to 35 … But , our question wants to know how many more GIRLS are in the class . Boys were calculated to be 15 in number .
Girls were calculated to be 20 in number .
We now know there were 5 more girls than boys in that class ..

total number of student in class=35
let the number of boys be 3x
let the number of girls be 4x
so therefore 3x+4x=35 =>7x=35 =>x=5
so therefore number of boys in class is 3x=>3(5)=15
and number of girls in class is 4x=>4(5)=20
so there are 20–15=5 more girls in class than boys.

Let the number boys in the class be b. So b/(35-b)=3:4, or 105-3b=4b, or 7b=105, or b=15. The number of girls in the class is 35-15=20 20-15=5
Ans: there are 5 more girls than the number of boys in the class.
