The mean is the average.
Total all the numbers and divide by the quantity:
600 / 15 = 40
Now the outlier is the number 18, so subtract 18 from the total and subtract 1 from the quantity and find the mean:
582 / 14 = 41.57 = 41.6
The mean increase by 1.6
