The glacier deposits are formed due to retreating or forming of new glacier or the glacier passes through a region because of glacier erosion. These glacier deposits are formed due to deposition of sediments. The four types of glacier deposits are: moraines, drumlins, eskers and kettle lakes.
1. Moraines: These are the accumulations formed by dirt, rocks that are fallen into the glacier surface. These are formed because of a receding glacier.
2. Drumlins: These are elongated hill shaped deposits that are formed by deposition of rock, sand and gravel that are formed under moving glacier ice.
3. Eskers: These are ridge of sand deposited by stream of melt water. Such streams flow underneath a retreating glacier.
4.Kettle lake: A kettle lake forms when a glacier leaves a chunk of ice in the sediment of the retreating glacier. The ice melts and it leaves a depression. The melt water fills the depression and forms the kettle lake.
