1. Write a diary entry from the perspective of one of the Goose Creek Men. In it, make clear what perspective the writer had about the best way to govern the South Carolina colony. The entry should make clear the way that perspective was affected by three things: personal experiences, social values, and cultural traditions. It should also reflect the consideration of how what is happening in South Carolina might influence other colonies.

Instead of teaching students to read, think, discuss, and write, we social studies teachers are focused on parading through as much content as possible. We can't “cover” everything in our classes, yet when we try to, we are creating the “boring” class that's just all about memorizing facts.
I am fed up by following challenges in social studies.

Siloing social studies minutes. Falling back on legacy materials. Assuming all diverse perspectives are representative. Only prioritizing big events and well-known names. Not providing robust resources for teaching complex topics.
