Aksum, the Swahili Coast, and Great Zimbabwe were all wildly different in where they were and how they functioned. Aksum environment, for example, was mostly agricultural, while Swahili had more coastal plains and swamp areas with fertile ground. Their religions were all completely different. Great Zimbabwe believed in spirits, Aksum was polytheistic before it was Christian, and the Swahili religion was Islamic.
However, they also did share similarities, like how their typical source of income was by trading. Their social structure was also relatively similar, and typically relied on a class structure. Aksum and Great Zimbabwe were both monarachys, while Swahili was ruled by an emperor.
Hope I helped you out! Thanks to the other helper for their information, I used it make this as accurate as possible.
