I believe the correct answer is: She emotionally addressed contemporary issues of social justice and of personal loss.
Käthe Kollwitz was a German artist, who worked with painting and sculpture and was the first woman admitted to Prussian Academy of Arts. Even though she was born during the epoch of Realism, her art is associated with Expressionism as she emotionally addressed contemporary issues of social justice and of personal loss. Her most famous art cycles, including The Weavers and The Peasant War, depict the effects of poverty, hunger, and war on the working class.

Some similarities i notices in these paintings is that the painting seems to be going on for quite some distance, rather than being in a room or having a specific, chosen subject. Its all in the same point of view, which makes it feel as if you are standing there and looking through your own eyes at the whole picture instead focusing on a single part and subconsciously ignoring the rest. Some good examples of this is The Chicago Theater by Robert Reeves, The quiet Brook by Julie Hart Beers, and Starry Night over Rhone by Vincent Van Gogh. A difference I noticed in the paintings is the painting style. In Starry Night over Rhone, the actual texture is very rough and the brush strokes are very obvious. However, in Landscape in Red by David Alfaro Sequeiros, the actual texture seems very smooth and the color are blended nicely.
When artist create landscape painting they have to choose what they want to paint and what massage they want to convey. The landscape they choose to paint can implement several different feeling such as livelines, serenity, or even sentiment. Then, they pick the color palette that they want to use. The choice of colors can change the whole meaning of a painting. For example, in Landscape in Red, the picture seems to be of a beach which normally would create a lively or serene feeling, but the choice of colors make you feel an emotion of frustration or maybe being trapped. In Landscapes in the Manner of Old Masters by Guan Si, you get a serene feeling from both the landscape itself, and the choice of color and media.
