Dog breeds like Boston terriers, Pugs, and English Bulldogs are commonly referred to as brachycephalic dogs due to their short snout (brachy = short, cephalic = head.) As a result of a short snout, these dogs typically have difficulty breathing, trouble breathing, trouble with exercise and shortened lifespans. Explain how artificial selection could cause these significant health problems in a dog breed (remember, they did not create these health problems on purpose)
