I believe this is in the first chapter. It says, “Maycomb had recently been told that it had nothing to fear but fear itself” This may not be the exact quote, as I am going off of memory, but I hope it helps. This quote “nothing to fear but fear itself” is a quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s inaugural address in 1933. The Great Depression was taking place during the early 1930’s.
