Enjambment is the continuation of a line of poetry to the next line without punctuation of pause. When reading poetry, lines of enjambment are read without a pause or hesitation as the idea will continue from one line to the next. A pause in the reading may create confusion or misunderstanding.
Free verse is a type of poetry without any rhyme scheme or specific meter. Alliteration is the repetition of a sound at the beginning of a group of words. Assonance is the repetition of a vowel sound at the beginning of a group of words.
