The disadvantages of the three leadership styles are the following:

Democratic or participative: because this kind of leadership brings autonomy and initiative to the team, can happen that the leader do not guide efficiently the team to achieve a goal, so in this case this kind of leadership will requires a high-skilled leader. Or it also can happen that all the ideas of the team delays somehow the project and it is loosed lot of time to achieve an agreement on the path to follow.
