In "The Four Freedoms" excerpt (lesson 1.9), which featured a speech by former President Franklin
Delano Roosevelt, four key human rights are described. The speech was timely and important because
of the looming war in the background. While each generation acknowledges and supports the
fundamental human rights promised to us in our U.S. Bill of Rights, there exists a difference in
interpretation and significance from generation to generation.
Today, you will write a letter to a future citizen of the world. In this letter, you will explain which two
human rights are the MOST important for your generation and how you interpret these two rights
