The Missouri compromise was seen as unjust and unfair. A lot of people saw it as unconstitutional.Individuals from a lot of areas therefore had to move to Kansas in order to vote on the issue.

This movement of people to Kansas in order to refute the compromise led to civil unrest that gave Kansas the name bleeding Kansas. Kansas ended up with two legislations.
