The event of ‘Boston Tea Party’ was where the formation of the ‘First Continental Congress’ took place.
Further Explanation:
12 Delegates out of the 13 British colonies took part in First Continental Congress that later became United States. The First Continental Congress took place between the periods of September 5 to October 22 1774 in Pennsylvania. To stop this, the British Navy instituted the blockade of Boston Harbor and parliament passed ‘Intolerable Act’ which was a response of ‘Boston Tea Party’ that took place in December 1773. The Boston tea party was a Political protest which targeted the tea act of May 1773 that allowed the British East India Company to sell tea that was made in China to sell in American colonies without paying taxes which were imposed by Townshend Act. The protest against this was so strong that some protesters even destroyed the entire shipment which was sent by East India Company. British colonists objected Tea Act because they believed that this act is violating their rights as Englishmen which said ‘No Taxation without Representation’. They also opposed the fact that East India Company was given more competitive advantages over colonial tea importers who had fear of losing their own business. The Event of Boston Tea Party proved to be significant chapter of grown in American Revolution.
