Explanation: Ziggurats were objects of pyramidal shape, as part of the complex of the temple, which included other buildings. They were built by the peoples of the ancient Mesopotamia: Sumerians, Akkadians, Assyrians, Babylonians, etc. The purpose of these zigguarts was religious, where predominantly Mesopotamian religion was practiced, as well as other local religions. One of the greatest zigguarts, it is believed, was built in Babylon.
