Hello!
The volume of a cone is found by using the formula: V = 1/3πr²h.
Figure 1 --
From figure one, it shows us the radius, which has a length of 8 centimeters, and the height, which is 14 centimeters. With that values, we can substitute those values into the formula and solve.
V = 1/3π(8)²(14)
V = 1/3(64)(14)π
V = 64/3(14)π
V = 896/3π centimeters³, 938.29 centimeters³ (multiplied by π), and 937.81 centimeters³ (multiplied by 3.14).
Therefore, the volume of the first cone is 938.29 centimeters³.
Figure 2 --
From the second figure, the height of the cone is 19.6 and the diameter is 12. To find the radius, divide the radius by 2, which is will give the radius.
V = 1/3π(6)²(19.6)
V = 1/3(36)(19.6)π
V = 12(19.6)π
V = 235.2π, 738.53 (multiplied by 3.14), 738.90 (multiplied by π)
Therefore, the volume of the second cone is 738.90 units³.
