1c. for a 95% process yield, what is the ppm (parts per million) defective? hint: p = 1 – 0.95

1d. for 99.999% process yield, what is the ppm (parts per million) defective?

Just use the Pythagorean theory. a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Plug in the values appropriately.

6^2 + b^2 = 10^2

36 + b^2 = 100

b^2 = 64

b = sqr root 64

b = 8

Therefore
