Question C1
A 110 kg merry-go-round with radius of 0.85 m was accelerated from rest to 12 rad/s in 10 s when you applied a constant torque of 304
Nm on it. Right after it reached 12 rad/s, you immediately jumped on the edge of the merry-go-round platform which is 0.85 m away from
the axis of rotation.
By assuming the friction is the same before and after the jump, calculate
(a) the friction of the merry-go-round
(b) the angular velocity of the merry-go-round the moment you jumped on it. Assume you have a mass of 69.7 kg.
(c) the duration taken for the whole system to come to rest, from the moment you jumped on the merry-go-round.

Explanation:
A battery has two electrodes, at one end it has the anode and the other end has the cathode. Electrons travel through the circuit from the anode (negative) to the cathode (positive), and this is the driving force that provides electricity to flow through circuits.
The anode needs to have a low electron affinity because it needs to readily release electrons, and the cathode needs to have a high electron affinity because it needs to readily accept electrons.
