Alan is somewhat surprised that he has gained a couple of pounds since coming to college. he has never had a weight problem. he was always active every day in high school sports. alan admits that his eating habits probably aren't as good as they should be. still, he eats only three meals a day and a snack at night. he doesn't snack between meals, because he doesn't get hungry. the food servers in the cafeteria where he eats always give him generous servings of food. alan isn't involved with any college sport, but he does play basketball with his friends occasionally. he also has a part-time job and has a full course load. alan thinks he is more active in college than when he was in high school. in fact, he often feels rushed going to classes because of the distance between classroom buildings and the fact that most of his classes are on the third or fourth floor and he has to wait to get an elevator.

Explanation:
Many teens today are counting down the days till they can drive. For most, driving gives a sense of independence and responsibility. About 76.3% of high schoolers 16 years or older are driving. It is thought that raising the driving age to 18 could lower the overall rate of fatal accidents. Teenslearntodrive.com disagrees and says, "16 is really the best age for teens to learn to drive." This is because they can have more guided experience with their parents and other adults. In states such as Iowa, the youngest teens can get a permit is 14 years old. In states such as Rhode Island though, you have to wait till 16 to get a permit. Teens in 2013 were responsible for over $10 billion in motor vehicle injuries. There are a few more requirements teens should be able to pass. Most accidents happen because of inexperience. Being able to handle a car in different weather should be a requirement. Many accidents come from teens not knowing how to handle a car properly in snowing conditions. According to Colorados driving restrictions, "For the first six months, no passengers under 21, unless a parent or other licensed adult driver over 21 is in the vehicle." To summarize, this policy recommendation could help save lives around the world.
