Although King is a respected individual for his part in the movement, clergymen criticize King for the violence that occurs because of his demonstrations and nonviolent tactics against the law. King feels that American blacks have achieved little by using the political channels in the city. King believed that the only option for equality was through demonstration and peaceful protest. 11. Why is King disappointed with the church leaders upon his arrival to Birmingham? King was disappointed with church leaders because of the lack of support received from them.
