When an organization is described as having a humanitarian purpose, its goal is understood as

...to help other people in need. Specifically, to save other people's lives, ease their suffering, specially suffering caused by hunger, or weather conditions, or epidemics. Humanitarian aid aims to help the most acute problems, often connected with (natural or human made) disasters.
