Dreams are very fascinating once you learn about them. Dreams vary in so many ways. Recently I've done some research on dreams and how they work. Once I did I was very fascinated by how they work and all the information on them. Let me tell you about these dreams.

What is a dream?A dream is images, ideas, and emotions that usually occur commonly in the mind during stages of sleep. They are basically a story in your brain that you're imagining when you're asleep. Dreams happen at any time of your sleep but they mostly happen when your eyes are constantly moving isn't that so strange and weird. While I was researching, some experts said,  "We can dream up to 6-10 times a night but we don't know that we have that many dreams in a night because we mostly don't remember them 95% of the time."We can't remember a dream sometimes we know we had one but we don't remember the entire thing.

Why do we dream? There are many answers on how we dream but here are what some experts say. Some experts say that there is no meaning to a dream, and it's really for no point. Other experts say that there for memory such as one widely held theory about the purpose of dreams is that they help you store important memories and things you've learned and they also can get rid of unimportant memories. And lastly the 3rd thing that more experts say is we need dreams for our mental, emotional, and physical health. There are more reasons on why we dream and what people think but those are probably the most common on why we dream.

How long do dreams last? I've actually researched a lot and basically all of the websites and books about dreaming says about the same answer but according to chambersandblohm.com they say “The length of a dream can vary; they may last for a few seconds or approximately 20–30 minutes.”.

What are the different types of dreams you can have? There are many different types of dreams you can have. According to the website puffy.com I did research there. They said, “There are five main types of dreams: normal dreams, daydreams, lucid dreams, false awakening dreams, and nightmares.”After reading that article I did some research on those five different types of dreams. A lucid dream is where the dreamer becomes aware that they are dreaming. During a lucid dream, the dreamer may gain some amount of control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment. A nightmare in Nightmares are vividly realistic, disturbing dreams that rattle you awake from a deep sleep. They often set your heart pounding from fear. Usually, if you wake up from a nightmare, you jump up and probably scream. A day dream is actually when you're awake and a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present when they are awake. Basically, you don't realize anything and you take your mind off something into a daydream. A false awakening is a vivid and convincing dream about awakening from sleep, while the dreamer in reality continues to sleep. After a false awakening, subjects often dream they are performing a daily morning routine such as showering, cooking, cleaning, eating, and using the bathroom. Isn't that such a strange thing you're having a dream inside of a dream.

Here are some interesting facts about dreams. One fun fact is that dreams can predict your future.A dream is images, ideas, and emotions that usually occur commonly in the mind during stages of sleep. Also since we forget dreams 95% of the time sometimes things can happen but we will never know that we dreamed of that. Another fun fact about dreams is that blind people do have dreams.According to research they can see life in their dreams and they get so happy when they remember their dreams. A third fact is that men and women dream differently; men can more commonly dream more about physical weapons and more fighting and more violence things while women can dream more about clothes, pets and magical things. Yes, women and men both dream about scary and emotional things but in a normal dream woman's dream more magical and men dream more physical things.

Concluding my writing about dreams. I think dreams are very interesting and there is way more to dreams. I feel like a lot of people don't research about dreams because they often don't really care or notice. I feel that once you find information you may find it very fascinating. I've learned so many new things once I researched things that I would have never known.
